While cryptocurrencies take most of the hype, Blockchain has potential to disrupt healthcare including how patient data is managed and drugs are tracked through the supply chain. While the industry is just experimenting with initial projects that share data via distributed ledger systems such as provider directories, medium term opportunities include pharmaceutical supply chain driven by DSCSA, claims management, payment and authorization. Long term applications such as universal identities, patient health records and decentralized app ecosystems are ripe for Blockchain. Our industry panel will discuss lessons learned, experiences and recommendations in an informal fashion without recordings, press, or social media hampering our exchange of knowledge.
