About the Program
Cloud Governance for Government is an invitation-only, video-based virtual event limited to 25 technology and security leaders from the Federal sector across the United States who will convene with three goals in mind:
- Learn from insightful conversations led by our moderated panel
- Participate in interactive break out room video discussions
- Build meaningful new connections with a group of like-minded peers
About the Content
In January 2020, the US National Security Agency (NSA) released guidance for Mitigating Cloud Vulnerabilities into four classes: misconfiguration, poor access control, shared tenancy vulnerabilities, and supply chain vulnerabilities. Managing who has access to what and with which privileges is a real challenge for the Federal government. Identity and Cloud Access Governance enables IT to manage access to compute applications, as well as data across cloud environments. Governing privileged access also helps prevent risk from insider threats, identity compromise, and protects the infrastructure from malicious attacks and operator error. Applying machine learning/artificial intelligence techniques to prevent unwanted application and data access that typically leads to data breaches offers a significant opportunity to enhance digital security across government offices and departments.
Discussion Topics
- Understanding the 3 key questions of governance: Who currently has access? Who should have access? How is the access being used?
- Discover access relationships, patterns and improve the application of access controls
- Manage and control access to your hybrid cloud infrastructure including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
- Enforce access to cloud infrastructure with predefined policies and credential cycling
- Leverage out of the box compliance guardrails to monitor for adherence for NIST SP 800-53
