About the Content

Accessing private, healthcare professional-only social media networks is the best way for pharma marketers to maximize impact and meet providers where they are. On April 29th, we’ll be exploring a 360-degree picture of these “walled gardens” and discussing how marketers can leverage these platforms to create genuine connections with healthcare providers (HCPs).

Prior to COVID, pharma marketers and sales reps were already experiencing reduced access to a pool of HCPs who increasingly rely on digital sources of information. Today, in the midst of social distancing, reps are lucky to get a few minutes of an HCP’s virtual time. Meanwhile, almost 50 million HCPs are using closed forums like Doximity, Sermo,  Medscape, and Skipta to share specialty-related patient stories, treatment plans, and drug ratings. To stay relevant, marketing teams need to prioritize social media and meet HCPs where they’re spending their time.

To gain the attention—and more importantly—the trust of HCPs, it’s vital for pharma brands to understand how HCPs are interacting on these platforms, and to market in a way that echoes the authentic, scientific, and transparent conversations taking place there.

Discussion Topics

  • Exploring the mysterious “walled gardens”
  • Getting real examples of how HCPs use these platforms
  • Identifying where HCP-only networks fit into a larger marketing strategy
  • Creating compliant, compelling social media content
